Default HDX card not recognized in new install

Hey, need some help here.

I just upgraded to PTHD12 HDX from PT10 HD. New PC build, components from the forum:

Asus X-99II MBO
i7 3.6 GHZ 6 core
32GB Corsair Ram
SSD System and Audio drive
GeForce 750ti Video
Windows 10

Everything looks good, went through my upgrade and everything is listed in my iLok mgr account (PT HD, Digi Link, etc).

I can install PT 12, but ti does not see my HDX card. In Device Mgr, the Avid HDX card has the dreaded yellow hazard icon.

I've tried multiple install and uninstalls, trashed pref, tried 12.8 and 12.7. Tried calling Avid support earlier, but even though my account says I have support through 2018, when I give my system ID, no support/dice.

Thoughts on getting my card in clean install state in device mgr?

You need a driver for the HDX card.

That's what the yellow triangle means

Let me look online to see if I can find a link

The link said they are in your master account.

It is the HD Driver, it needs to be installed on your system

The hdx driver is installed when you install pro tools. What is hapowni by is you need to turn off secure boot in the bios of the Asus motherboard. Fyi the avid hdx driver isn't signed correctly and windows 10 is blocking it. To unblock it, turn off secure boot on your Asus motherboard.

Thank you thank you thank you!!! That worked. Device Mgr looks good and firmware is updating, so I assume I'm good now.

Curious what version of Windows 10 you are using? I had the same issue with LTSB with my ASUS board. Avid said that the HD driver signing changed at 12.6. My current install/drive image is pre 12.6. I went back to Creator from LTSB because it is based on the Anniversary which doesn't have the svchost management optimizations. Frankly I didn't feel there was a significant difference in performance using LTSB. Avid said they don't support LTSB also.

I don't recall, (sigh), however I believe I tried a fresh install of Creator and had the same driver signing issue so I reverted back to my pre-12.6 drive image which for some reason doesn't have the driver signing issue when updating post 12.6 and I am able to keep secure boot enabled in my bios. Just a note, I am not using the latest bios rev for my board because of an issue with the Asus Thunderbolt addin card , which is a different issue of reliability, and a not driver signing related issue.

From Avid:
The fact that it (driver signing) works with HD driver 12.4 and not 12.6 is because signing for the HD Driver changed with 12.6.
So without the updates it will not work properly.
I hope this answers your questions.

Kind regards,
