Digi|PLEASE- Darken Next PT- I\'m already wearing Sun Glasses
We love mixing in dim lights here at the AmunRaa. When the studio is all dark an cozy PT is lighting up the Studio like a christmas tree.. It's great for daylight sessions and recordings. But mixing is ALL ABOUT HEARING and the eyes play a huge part in positioning the instrument in a mix - it really kills me getting totally blinded by all the light getting beamed when PT is in the foreground. Normally when listening to the mix I hide PT and have a dark desktop.... But it would be fantastic to be able to have a dark version of protools so one can actually look at the monitor while making adjustments without loosing mojo - maybe something like aperture from apple - especially nice when in full screen mode.
I know that I share this opinion with quite many mixers. Could you please look into this..... Thank You PS - should not be that hard to program... It could be something like switching resource file like in the Apple Appearance Panel - Blue or Graphite - only in PT it would be called - Daytime & Night Time PPS Dont bother telling me to invert my monitor - anyone saying something like that has either no taste or never tried it Pretty Please With Sugar on Top......

I'll think I'll boot up Photoshop this weekend and make a pitch...
Digidesign can have it should they like it... I dont want nothing else but the implementation.... What would it hurt to look good and dark if there's still an option to look bright and normal....

Yeah, make PT darker, and I would be gone in a heartbeat.
Adjust the brightness and contrast..lol... Seriously tho- if you spend some time on the Reaper forums, you will find very quickly that appearance likes are so very diverse. Where I love the colors in PT, some would want things as dark as Nuendo, others even darker, such as the black backed Reaper versions. Some want the nice rounded pastel fuelled, while others want something akin to Live's earlier versions, very stripped back and minimalist. If anything, and at the very most, I would hope Digi would allow us a choice of two GUI's: one darker, one light, with brightness/contrast adjustments, ala Nuendo/Cubase. This way those of us that love it as is are happy, and the darker souls get their desire as well

Hit Control + option + Command + 8 (not on the numeric pad).
