Audition Midi Files in DigiBrowser?

Is there a way to assign midi files to a VI in digi browser so that the midi content can be auditioned?

Two options, Virtual Instrument in Pro Tools or external sound module, both need assigning in Preferences>MIDI>Default Thru Instrument.

I added an instrument track and added a VI in it,
I I select it in my MID preferences
I open digibrowse and double click a midi file I get nothing
if i double click a wav file it previews.

Am I missing something else?

I need to make a correction, in the Pro Tools 10 Reference Guide, MIDI files cannot be auditioned from DigiBase. If I recall correctly this was a supported auditioning path in previous versions, for instance version 7 or 8 but Clip List auditioning is supported with Pro Tools 10. Same setup as previously mentioned, simply drag in the MIDI file from DigiBase and Alt click to preview.
