Default HD7 + PT9 (nonHD) licenses on ilok = ? + other PT9 questions

1) What happens if you put an iLok into a system (that has no HD cards) that contains an HD7.x license and a PT9 (non HD) license?
2) Will it just run as PT9 or will it have the CPTK functionality?

3) Also, in PT9 (nonHD), is there ADC on hardware inserts? If not, is it manual? Do you just have to ping/enter it once or how often?

What I would suggest is that you look in the for sale section and talk with EJ about a new iLok with HD9 on it..

For $600 it's a bargain and you would get to keep everything you have now as well as gain HD/CPTK functionality

Sounds like this may be the ticket. 95% likely to do that. Does anyone know the answers to the above questions though? I'm still curious.

I'm not sure what you mean. The license is for a particular version. A PT9 HD license will not work with HDX since HDX requires PT10 HD.

There is only blue or black. I'm not sure where you got the silver from. Blue 192's are not going to be tested or supported by AVID with v11. Use them at your own risk.

Timing is everything. Be patient, PT9HD prices will drop huge over the next few months as will PT10HD.

Not a fan of EJ either, FWIW!
