Default Experience with Remote Desktop

Hi,
I want to remote my HD-system from the recording room with Remote Desktop. Does it work well with Pro Tools?
Here's what I want to do:
I want to put my Macbook Pro with 10.6.2 close to the recording room and a bluetooth keyboard and mouse inside the recording room (a computer-screen is there as well) to control my Pro Tools rig with OSX 10.4.11 (details below).
Does it work? Anything I need to take care of?
I would like to have any expertise before I buy Remote Desktop...

Kind regards

Mark

I've used Timbuktu and VNC (same functionality as ARD) to do that all the time. Works fine. You're running Tiger, so the mobileme "back to my Mac" feature won't work to control the Tiger rig, but that also works fine when running Leopard on both machines.

Try one of the VNC servers first - there are some free ones out there.

I remote desktop into our systems running on tiger all the time from a pc running VNC viewer free edition. As long as you set up correctly in the remote desktop in system preferences it should work fine.

p.s. you shouldn't need to buy anything if you are happy to use vnc, as this is compatible with the remote desktop server that is installed with tiger.

Thanks Bryan and Nobby,
I've never heard about VNC. I will take a look what it is and how it works. Maybe I come back with new questions then...
