Default Will BFD2 work with Pro Tools?

I am thinking about buying BFD2, but have read that BFD has problems with crashing Pro Tools. I am wondering if FXpansion has worked out the bugs with BFD2 (I read that they claim it is a Pro Tools issue concerning BFD). I don't want to buy BFD2 if they have not resolved this issue with Pro Tools. Is there anyone working for FXpansion reading this post that might be able to answer if the Pro Tools and BFD issues have been resolved in version 2? Thanks

FWIW, I haven't had any problems running BFD in PT. v2 will likely req more resources for the effects, etc. but that's to be expected.

I haven't had any problems with BFD 1.5 in protools....mind you my new quad has quite a bit of power to spare.

I'm really looking forward to v2, it looks like they've really done a re-work and a 55 Gb sample-set......

I asked the same question, here is the reply I received from Fxpansion

Quote from Fxpansion:

"At the risk of sounding facetious should you not be sending this email to
digidesign and not ourselves?

We have no control about bug fixes that have to undertaken by a 3rd party.

All we can do is pass on any relevant informations we recieve from
digidesign.

We cant help to move the process along though.

Digi are the only ones who can solve this problem.

There is nothing we can do."

DIGI CAN YOU WORK WITH FXPANSION TO FIX THIS?
There is a lot of finger pointing, but us Pro Tools users also want to be BFD users.

THANKS!!!!

BFD2 is not out yet, but has been under intensive internal & beta testing on Pro Tools with excellent results.

Having said that, SOME of the issues people have had with BFD1 and PT have been fundamental system performance issues (primarily insufficient RAM and bus / bandwidth bottlenecks), BFD2 will still need a well spec'ed computer to run smooth in PT (I'd suggest at least dual G5, Intel Mac or 2GHz+ PC, and 2GB of RAM).

Hope this helps,
Angus / FXpansion.

Thanks for the update Angus....nice to get it from the source. Can you give any sort of hint/tip/premonition/idea/clue or ballpark for a release date??

I'm one who is having problems and I'm on a Dual Mac 2.3 GHz with 6.5 Gig Ram. I hope the new version works. I'd really like to run sessions with my Platinum Samples AFJ and EJB that I paid $500 for.

The master disks went to the dupe plant yesterday, my best guess at this point is last week of November or first week of December.

badboy - I take it you've been through the step-by-steps with Rail @ Platinum Samples and/or our tech support team?

Yes.

Rail has been great. He even called me on the phone on a Saturday because his emails weren't getting through to me. I can't think of enough nice things to say about Rail and Platinum Samples. My experience with BFD tech support has not been so great. I think BFD is a great product and wish it was not crashing my system, but it does, so I am very frustrated with the lack of a fix. I hope BFD2 is better. Can you tell me if you and Digi worked out the problems with compatibility? Or will BFD2 be the same and tech support will keep saying they are waiting for Digi to fix the problem? I don't want to spend more money on BFD2 when nobody from FXpansion has answered that question yet. So how about it? What's the official word?

Thanks
