RAM and SSD trade off?
Hi all, does anyone know whether using an SSD for audio recording & an SSD for OS & protools will allow my projects to use less RAM?
Just a thought. |

Re: RAM and SSD trade off?
"SSD" means little more than "no moving parts" these days. There are fast ones and there are slow ones. A fast one for OS and apps means faster boot up, faster launching of programs and often a snappier feel overall. A fast drive for sessions and audio files will mean faster loading of sessions and files.
But Janne is right, you'll not need less RAM.
