PT 12.5.1 MIDI Volume still not usable!!!!
Hi, just gave it a try to use 12.5.1..
Ok, some bugs are fixed, also the MIDI Editor Shortcut is back again, BUT: The use of VolumeFaders is not to work with... While in all of this years, the MIDI Volume directly was send to the Instrument, doesn't matter of Hardware Synt or virtual Instrument, you have now a delay or better, it switches to the new value, when you leave the fader... Completely not usable, if you wanna make a fade in or something else using MIDI Volume... When you record it via Automation, it will play that after fine, BUT HOW CAN YOU MIX SOMETHING, WHEN YOU DON'T HEAR THE RESULT!!! Back to PT 11.... FXXX!!!! |

Re: PT 12.5.1 MIDI Volume still not usable!!!!
Hi, Not sure I totally understand what's happening, but MIDI volume seems to be working fine for me in 12.5.1. Can you describe exactly how your session is setup, what plugins you're using, and the steps I need to go through to try to recreate this?
Thanks

Re: PT 12.5.1 MIDI Volume still not usable!!!!
Hi,
the setup is really easy... I create a MIDI track, send the output to a Hardware Synth (via MIDI Interface) or a VI (which is used in an AUX Track)... Note Playing, recording everything fine... When I play, what I recorded, and change the MIDI Volume, it doesn't react smooth..., for example, you start at low volume, try to fade in - no change, until you take the mouse from the fader... then it will play at the last touched value.. When you do that with automation on, and let it play after the fade written in automation, it will do fine... But WHILE you do the fade, you have no direkt control as the volume doesn't correspond to the fader Movement... You can see it also in a Kontakt Instrument... Normally, the volume slider should be moved, when you change the volume on a connected MIDI Track... it doesn't... after written in automation, it does... Under PT 11 no problem, like it was since PT5... |

Re: PT 12.5.1 MIDI Volume still not usable!!!!
And I doublechecked:
When PT is not playing, and you move a MIDI Volume Fader, no action on the "connected MIDI Instrument". When PT plays and you move the MIDI fader, the instrument's volume switches from the first position to the last one, no smooth fade... Putting Automation to touch etc. doesn't make a difference... When you move a Volume fader on a MasterKeyboard, the volume information will be send to the connected MIDI Device... Hardware and Software...!!!!! |

Yes. With all the complaining here you would think support was rude. But they're nice guys to deal with and usually very helpful.

Re: PT 12.5.1 MIDI Volume still not usable!!!!
Amazing! It still does't work. My studio is useless with midi volume automation working correctly. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Avid fix this now. It is unacceptable. If this is not fixed soon, I will post all the negative things about it every day until fixed on gearslutz and here. Everyone should do the same
