elastic audio question
Hi.
I`m new to elastic audio. I read about it in the manual, but there is one thing I still dont understand. I use it to change tempo of my songs. Here is what I do I click all button. put all the tracks in ticks, add the polyphoic plugin to all tracks, put the marker in front of all tracks (usually at 0.00 ) then I change the tempo. works great. I leave it like this but when beginning to add plugins I get "running out of cpu" and that I schould disable elastic audio or put it in render mode. Lets say I have finally found the tempo. do I need to have elastic audio on or can I just turn off the plugins and it will stay in the last tempo. Or do I have to render the files in the new tempo. I really try to understand how this works. hope someone can help. thanks |

Re: elastic audio question
Ive seen this error before, it could be you are maxing out your machine but i would say its more than likely and error with the install of PT or the elastic audio side of PT

Re: elastic audio question
What does the System usage window tell you? Have a look during playback. Also, what settings do you have in the Playback engine?

Re: elastic audio question
I don't think its an issue with your PT install. Most likely maxing out your computer.
If all you want to do is leave your tracks at the new tempo and move on, then remove EA and in the ensuing dialog box, commit the audio. This will leave your files at the new tempo and render the files to your disk. If you think you might want to do some EA editing later on, go into the EA algorithm and select rendered rather than real time. This will free up some resources without completely disengaging EA. Remember that EA is non destructive. You always have your original files to go back to if needed. You can experiment with the different algorithms. Finally, once you're happy, you might want to consider using the X-Form rendered algorithm, which is the highest quality. It takes longer to render the file but may well be worth it. John

Re: elastic audio question
You have to "commit" tracks to print. The way you do this is by simply removing elastic audio from the track. a dialogue box will appear and you press "commit". Also gives you an option to "revert" if you are unsatisfied with warped performance.
On another note, I am having an issue with "commit" and "revert". This warning sign pops up, and I am stuck in elastic audio edit screen. Can't print elastic audio renders. Anyone? "could not complete you request because assertion in "/volumes/development/ ws.Encore/AlturaPorts/PT4_App/MacBuild/../../NewFileLibs/Time/Time_typebase.h",line 164" |
