Export OMF to Nuendo - file name error
I'm hoping there are Nuendo users out there.
I am on PT 6.4 and trying to export OMF's to the dialogue editor who is on Nuendo. The OMF works fine - but when he opens it, the files are all named after my computer name?! All of the take numbers etc are lost. I am exporting OMF, embedded audio files, and ticking the Enforce Avid Compatibility box. A local post house sent over OMFs from an ADR sesion, and when that OMF is opened in Nuendo - the take names are all there present and correct. I've talked to them but they ddidn't appear to do anything differently (although they are on v7) ..... it seems to be hit and miss. Any ideas? |

Re: Export OMF to Nuendo - file name error
Hi,
First off, If you have not already, try posting your question here: Nuendo Post Secondly, I need to know why when I export an OMF from PT's for Nuendo, my fades information does not go through (no fades, just hard cuts)? What kind of export do I need to do and/or which setting do I need to pay attention to?

Re: Export OMF to Nuendo - file name error
This is admittedly a stab in the dark but try exporting without checking the enforce Avid compatibility box. I have done several OMF's between PT's 6.x and Nuendo 3 without your problem and I never check that box when I do them.

Re: Export OMF to Nuendo - file name error
I would suggest spending the money, and buying a copy of EDL Convert.,
Then save your session as a PT version 5 session. Convert that in EDL Convert pro to an AES31 or Opentl. Also, have you tried doing an AAF export/import instead? Edl Convert will save a lot of headaches. I've found exporting fromn Pro-Tools using OMF or anyhting else, not very successfull most of the time. |

Re: Export OMF to Nuendo - file name error
Thanks guys,
I ended up taking my sessions onto another machine with PT7 and exporting the OMF's from there. They work bueatifully. I will however try Henchmans sugestion and not tick the Enforce Avid Compatibility box as a little test, no doubt this will arise again soon on this PT6 machine. |
