ProTools and TDM

This might be the stupidest question......sorry.

Will I be able to use my TDM plugs in PT 10 or will they all be RTAS if I upgrade? Is this a software issue or hardware?

TDM plugins will work in PT 10, but it will be the last version to support TDM.

it is also a hardware issue -- if you upgrade to hdx, no more tdm.

But if I stay on PT 10 I will be able to use my 192 and TDM.

You can still use the cards and interfaces, but TDM no more, just RTAS.

Now I am confused - so my TDM plug-ins will be converted into RTAS and not be used as TDM as written in an earlier post?

if your plugin doesn't have a RTAS version, you will not use it at all.

That is not true. If you use the PTs 10 software only you will be able to use TDM and RTAS plugins. Once you upgrade your hardware you will then no longer be able to use your TDM plugins. That being said, the software upgrade pricing is so beyond absurd that I doubt that many of us will have to deal with this issue anyway.
