Hi friend ! Please dectivate the low latency monitoring option below the delay compensation setting and test again.

What is the end goal here? If the plugin has no inherent latency(caused by processing), then there is no latency to compensate for(just as there is none with many native plugins like BF76 or EQ III). The Time Adjuster plugin will also report zero latency because the plugin assumes you want to make the track later(and compensation would simply undo the delay setting)

albee here i am repeating my initial question below, as it was not about latency.

"i am using protools 2018.10, and i am adding a 'ModDelay 3' to my vocal track but then the vocal track goes out of sync with the instrumental track, isn't delay compensation supposed to compensate ? also please see the attached screenshot"

thanks

It might be because the plugin in your picture is set to 100% wet and your not hearing the dry signal just the wet delayed signal. The plugin is on an audio track not an aux.

Bingo^^^. Move the MIX slider back to the left. Most of us will use reverb and delay plugins on an AUX track and feed with a send

right now after applying the plugin i am moving the vocal track to the left with some trial error (rough work) to make it sync with the instrumental track.

may be i should try delay plugin on aux and feed with a send and see if that solves the issue.

to be very specific and avoid confusion
-------------------------------------------

The issue i face is that, after applying the delay plugin my vocal track goes out of sync with my instrumental track .

So i am having to shift my vocals to the left by some rough amount (trial/error) to make it in rhythm with the instrumental track. ( note: in my previous attached pic i had removed the instrumental track)
