hey guys

flux has released both AAX Native and AAX DSP of their famous Limiter Elixir. it´s version 3 now supporting both AAX formats and others...

and then there´s the freeware transient shaper tool Bittersweet now in version 3 also supporting AAX Native and AAX DSP!

I might wait and try the new Avid Pro limiter. Flux is charging full freight for Elixir v3 AAX native/DSP ($259 I believe). The Avid limiter is what like $99. Also if you plan on exchanging projects or work in multiple facilities there is a good chance that most will adopt the new Avid "Pro" plugins.

As much as I like Elxir, Flux is not known for responding to bug fixes quickly. If Flux provides a more reasonable upgrade path to those of us that already bought in that might be a different story.

Amen on Bittersweet. Their Stereo Tool is also a great freebie from them.

I downloaded the Elixir demo and checked it out today (AAX DSP). Very nice. Low latency, transparent. Great work by the folks at Flux. I'm buying it tomorrow.
