Second monitor pair

I've been having some translation issues mixing using my alesis monitor one mk2 monitors. It's probably more to do with my room. In particular, I've been having difficulty balancing the bass. When I play a mix that sounds great in new car stereo cd player, it always changes. I am thinking of buying a second set of monitors to hopefully reduce this problem. Any suggestions for monitors that have an opposite character to the alesis monitors?

Also, is there a way to hook up two sets of monitors to the digi 002 and then flip back and forth between them quickly? What's the best way to achieve this setup?

brown, you probably have a serious room problem. new monitors most likely will not solve this. you can have the best monitors in the world but, in a bad room they will not be accurate. google room acoustics,room modes and read,read,read.
