I'm really surprised that you are still having the same problem. Don't blame it on the P4, as there are plenty of us that are using one without that problem!
I'm going to do a little research and get back to you on this one...

BTW, have you tried defragging your audio drive? Also, what file system are you using?

Paul

I constantly defragment my drives, and I use NTFS.

Thank you for really putting effort into this, Paul. I appreciate it moe than you know.

Just in order to eliminate some variables, I was wondering if you had any way to borrow a Firewire drive from someone, and see if you can bounce to it. It would be best to identify this as either a drive problem, an XP problem or a PT problem.

BTW, you're not in Chicago by any chance, are you?

p.s. Why don't you enable private messaging on your profile, so we can stop boring everyone else with this thread?

I have the same issue myself with an AMD Asus A7V333 motherboard and XP2400 CPU
I just upgraded to 6.1.1 myself with a DIGI001 and did all the tweaking imaginable. Tech support finally told me that this is indeed a bug in the software and are working on new release to fix this. I've since returned back to my 5.3.1 and have no problems with the bounce handler. It only occurs in 6.1.1.

I can't borrow a firewire drive from anybody, sadly, and I'm not in Chicago; I'm in Rhode Island.

I'll enable private messaging as soon as I post this, but I think it mayb e best to keep this thread alive for anyone else who may have my specific problem.

Okay, this is odd. I can't find the option to enable private messaging. Anyone up to clue me in?

Thanks!

Hey-
Sorry. I guess that you can't send PM's on this board. I hadn't even checked it out before.
Anyway, I guess the above post may be your answer. Go back to PT 5.3.1 until the bug is fixed. (If you have this version.) I would think that if Digi is admitting that it's a bug, they should at least give you a copy of version 5 until they fix it if you don't have one.
It's curious how some are having this problem and some aren't.

Paul

I've never used 5.x.x, but it's worth a shot. What would you think is the best way to go about obtaining a copy of 5.x.x that works with Windows XP for free? I paid for a product that they're admitting to be buggy, and I'm losing money because of it. There's no way I'll pay for an earlier version of the software which may or may not work properly.

You have an Mbox, so you'd need 5.3.3 - I don't know how you'll find a copy for free.

BUT, there is a workaround you can use. Instead of BTD, route your main output to a stereo track, and record it there. Then you can export the stero track.

Same effect, different way to get there. Only slightly less convenient. And the fact that it works just makes the BTD bug seem even dumber.

Would I have to physically route the outputs to the inputs (requiring my to disconnect my monitors and route the their cables into the inputs of my Mbox) or can I do it from within Pro Tools?
