The band is good but i'm not crazy about them. I'm just tired of the whole 'we're heavy but we can be played on the radio' type sound. And I agree with Paul about the solo. It sounded like the guitarist was more interested in writing a cool sounding solo than adding to the structure of the song.

The recording is excellent though. Great job.

Any additional comments (especially pertaining to the production/recording) would be appreciated.

. . . but the recording sounds good!

i have to agree on about adding a "dry center" vocal track. i like the panned vocals and dont think they need to be louder - IF you add a vocal track in the center. the vocals really sit down in the mix and a center track would make them "pop". but then again, maybe thats what the client wanted! Yo,
Good job!!
I like the stereo vocals-rules are made to be broken.
The snare could be a little more upfront ala
Tool or Van Halen.
Keep up the good work.

I think this is a GREAT Mix... did you mix this all within ProTools LE?
Of so, could you tell me what you were doing as far as reverb goes?
I have to say the guitar tone is fantastic! Really. Good job

thanks. as far as reverb....waves renverb "small room" on overheads/snare top and bottom.

waves trueverb vocal spread on vox, and quarter note stereo delay on vox.

The onlything that did not fit to me was the snare, its a little bright and thin, the rest of the drums sound huge, its not that it sounds bad, but more that it does not fit as well as it could.

The guitars sound great....if only i could afford a PRS...

yeah i'm not a huge fan of the snare sound either. it was a piccolo snare, which i absolutely abore in rock music, but it seems like most of my clients use them. if you listen to "the tourist" mp3 on that same page, that's more of the snare sound i ususally use.

as far as the tape stop effect, that's the good ol' digidesign veri-fi plugin.
