PT12 Finally in my account, then gone again :-(

I finally got PT12 showing in my account for all 3 licenses I upgraded.

I decided to wait until tonight to install but now I just went to download them and they are gone again...!?!?!?!?

What is going on here?????

happened to me too. not sure why.

Avid CS mostly ignored that question in my support case when i asked.

not a huge deal on my end, as i have no plans to immediately upgrade.

but still odd, and a little silly.

They've built some overly complex customer database that nobody really understands so they can't "flip the switch" and make the upgrades happen.

Think cliched government bureaucracy.

What a mess ! But even more bizarre once it was in my account...now its gone. I can't think of another instance when a company did a major upgrade launch that none of their customers could download it. What a train wreck!

On the flip side, and even more sad for AVID, other than being upset that we can't get it, no one actually cares... since there are no new features anyway.

Imagine the outrage if we couldn't get it but it was an incredible release that we all wanted!!

That is probably the worst part of all of this !!!

Both Cubase and Logic just had fabulous upgrade releases that their users are raving about. 99% of AVID users have been left disappointed. Disappointed about the new subscription / support plan, disappointed about lack of features, disappointed it can't even be downloaded, disappointed about the lack of caring for their loyal users.

Maybe in the end PT10 just ends up being the standard and no one upgrades. 2" tape was the standard for a long time even after they stopped making tape machines and tape.

What I don't see going away is using Protools 10 as the standard transfer and archiving format but I see more and more people every day working on projects themselves in other DAWs. At the very least "curiosity" is at an all time high....

I have to wonder if Avid is using Microsoft Access as their database software? That would explain a lot as that's been known to have these kinds of Alzheimer's issues and lose things at random. I should know because a company I worked for in another lifetime used Access and would regularly lose parts of it's database some of which had customer accounts and some that had internal documents.

No, no, they are used to that. Some are much more negative and gets there a lot quicker than you. Let's just relax and they will have it out there eventually.

What could be even more interesting: Why was the PT12 upgrade links in so many users accounts for a few hours and then removed again?
