Default Mice or no mice

I know this topic has been on the DUC before, but I still have some questions , having some wristproblems so now & then (due to a nasty tick) .
The hockeypuck, which came with the B/W G3 Macs - i sometimes feel it’s not fast (although on highest speed) and accurate enough .
Which are the better alternatives ?
Did a search on DUC , where everyone's talking about those trackballs .
Logitech? Kensington?
Multibuttons ?
And what about cordless ? Does that work ?

What are yr opinions ?
Marc

we use a mouse, a track ball, a joystick and a digitizing pad with pen... I just swith around once in a while to work different parts of my wrist, hand and arm... I find the trackball works the best for long periods..

I ought to know... I mix 6 days a week 8 to 12 hours per day on protools....
I am very careful about wrist and hand problems...

'm looking forward to the day I can TRULY put the mouse away and just talk to the computer..

" Computer On "
" Sorry..umm.. errr you have to use the mouse.."
" Oh... how quaint...."

Lifting the mouse to my lips " Computer on..."

( It's still my favorite Star Trek moment !)

cheers

georgia

Marc,
I started using a Kensington Turbo Mouse about a month ago because my hand and lower arm began to hurt so bad I couldn't even grip a football. It also had alot to do with my wrist position and arm strain, as well as the mouse.
So far so good, almost totally pain free and it only took a couple of days to adjust.
I used to use a Wacom tablet back when I edited on a Waveframe. I've tried using it with PT (not the same one, obviously) but it kept conflicting with my CD burner. So I had to abandon it.

My Mac mouse has always seemed very slow and innacurate compared to my PC mouse. Other Mac's I've used seem the same - not just the hockey puck mouse.

I bought a Logitech "Wingman" gaming mouse that I think works great on my P-Tools setup. It was only about $50 bucks. It has it's own set of setup preferences that actually do what I expect them to do.

Saw in a shop in my town (Fnac) next to Logitech , Microsoft cordless trackball (Windows & Mac) , rather cheap .
So what about Microsoft mice/trackballs ?
And who uses CORDLESS ?
Or do we still need these tails?

Hey, is anyone using the new "Pro" laser mouse with the new G4's? Anybody liking it?

I love the new laser mouse on my G4. It works great on my satin-black spray-painted tabletop. It will not work on the glass tabletop I have my PT system on. I've gotten used to the hockey puck on my G3 PT system.
