Default Latest Waves Sale - Crazy!

The prices for the latest Waves plugs are flat out insane.

$149 for Abbey Road? That's nuts. I'm half considering upgrading to Studio Classics to to extend my WUP on API, which would only be about $20 less.

There has to be a v10 coming or something.

The something being a "new normal" where no one wants to pay for anything in society in general. It's a race to the bottom. Sadly this includes the artists that make all the great music we enjoy.

I must be weird then because I pay for everything of quality and if it ain't good then I don't buy it - it's that simple. Music, movies - you name it. Don't get me wrong as I love a good sale and if a developer throws in a good freebie I'm all over that.

The thing I have to watch out for in these kinds of 'sales' is that I don't start buying stuff just because it's at a reduced price.

I agree Jack but people like you and me are a dying breed. Drew is right, the younger generation grew up with "free downloads" of software and music, etc. They do not understand the value of what they were getting for "free" or how much time, energy and money went into creating it so they don't want to and will never pay for it.
The Internet is one of our greatest technological advances in modern times, but it is also turning into the innovation that is eroding away civilized society.

But if I did not already own Mercury, I would be all over some of these sales.
And you are right about buying stuff you don't need. I keep buying the Waves pianos and keys because they are so cheap and I do not need them at all. But just can't stop myself from shelling out $30.

I have Horizon + Studio Classics and a few other things.
Obviously I bought the Abbey Road bundle at this price- what a steal.

Highlight so far is the TG12345- it sounds killer.

Something to watch out for with the TG12345 is when using the compressor first in the chain; for some reason I consistently get a pop on the first time the compressor engages. It's not cpu related at all and after that first pop everything else is quiet.

They have lots of Easter eggs like that....

CLA compressors is the same way.... example
adjust your threshold and your output levels while the track is playing back.....

Sounds like I’ve miked up an API EQ

So I contacted Waves support because I thought something was wrong and they told me “yeah we know about it don’t adjust those levels while your track is playing back” oh really
