Re: Delay Compensation bug in PT11 with AOS plug-ins
I've checked on two different systems so far and the control-command click fixes the delay issue perfectly but only when the VI is on an Audio track, NOT when it's on an instrument track.
I still can't figure out why this isn't being spread across those threads related to this specific bug. And if we can fix the delay comp issue with three presses of our hand why has it taken Avid over a year to write it into their code? |

Re: Delay Compensation bug in PT11 with AOS plug-ins
One question on this regarding Maschine / Geist - if you put Maschine on an instrument track then the internal metronome of Maschine (and hence the sequencer in Maschine) and the metronome in Pro Tools will not be in sync if there are high latency plugins on other tracks. You can fix this by putting Maschine on an audio track and doing the control+command trick. However, this also means you cannot play the pads in realtime into Maschine because there will be a significant lag. Also happens when trying to use a MIDI controller with Geist. However, this did not exist in PT10 and doesn't seem to exist with Boom.
Any ideas? Does PT have some sort of low latency mode like Logic that disables high latency plugins when a track is record enabled? The "Low Latency Monitoring" option doesn't seem to do the trick. |

Re: Delay Compensation bug in PT11 with AOS plug-ins
Eric, my tests also detailed that using instrument tracks is broken too, so the info is out there!

Re: Delay Compensation bug in PT11 with AOS plug-ins
hopefully i'm stating this correctly…PT11 does have 2 modes of buffering…record buffer is whatever you set your playback engine buffer to…playback buffer is 1024 for 44.1/48k sessions and 2048 for 88.2/96k and above. but if you have high latency plugins inserted then you are tied to the impact/effect of that latency. so playback engine buffer plus latency of plugins inserted on that record-enabled track will be your bottom line when recording...

Re: Delay Compensation bug in PT11 with AOS plug-ins
yes…and for those that wanna use INST trax then the workaround is manually inputing the total value of delay (from the delay field) of the plugins on the track as a negative value in the +/- user offset field...

Well when they saw it and paid attention to it is another matter
Then a few meetings go by and they decide what to do about it then they release recourses to fix it. #redtape
