Exchanging sessions between HD and LE

Hi,

i've got some questions about exchanging protools sessions between a LE system and a HD system (or mix system).

I would like to record all my audio material in a good studio which has a HD system and good preamps, comp, converters etc....
Then, I would like to be able to transfer the session (and audio files) to my LE system for editing.
Is that possible ? any troubles ?
I will be able to restore all my regions etc.. ?

Audio in HD system are stored in the same way as in LE systems (except the fact that HD can go up to 192khz ) ?

As long as you don't go over 32 tracks and enable the Mac/PC compatibility (in case you are crossing platform) there's no reason why it shouldn't work. I did the opposite and back several times, and people have been doing it for years, that's one of the advantages of LE; the only problems could be that you won't be able to use some TDM only plug ins, while the rest will be converted in the RTAS equivalent; also, be sure that if you are crossing from Mac to PC you burn the CD/DVD as ISO9660, so the file names will be intact when opened on the other DAW (you need the Joliet extension on the Mac). Audio files and regions are identical, just make sure they are in the same folder as your PT session.
