Default Digi 001 Hardware Requirements

Please forgive my apparent lack of knowledge, but the hardware requirements section of the new Digi 001 page indicate a minimum of a 9600. What is the difference if one was to use any other of the 7500-9500 series MACs that have been upgraded to the same processor speed as the 9600 (the specific processor speed is not indicated on the requirements page). Wouldn't a 9500 with a G3 300mhz upgrade run Digi 001 even better than a 9600, processor speed unknown. I guess I am missing something. Please help me out with an explanation.

Thanks in advance
