Default When is Protools going to include object based mixing?

It's 2021. Object based mixing is here to stay and immersive audio is the future. Protools need to move away from the old antiquated stereo and surround mixing modes and support full immersive audio and object based mixing natively.

Sure you can buy an immersive audio system from L-Acoustics, Meyer, or D&B and get the Protools plugin for their immersive systems. But we need full native immersive audio with object based mixing built right in to Prorools.

Avid: please include this functionality in the next 2021.5 release of Protools, thanks.

I think they have it, but it only works in Dolby Atmos, which we Windows users still can't run. Is it an Avid shortcoming, or a Dolby shortcoming? I watched a demo in a Dolby Atmos room in Nashville a year ago and they were running PT and I did see Object info on the screen(but they were running Mac)

Ugg...(from what I've heard)...Dolby Atmos is a dog turn when it come to programming and the user interface. L-ISA and SpaceMap Go are light years beyond what Dolby is doing.

Plus, the whole idea is that it should be included natively with Protools. We need a third window for Protools, the immersive/object window.

Yeah, object is here as ATMOS (for a while now)

And Dolby fronted the cost for the integration. And it has a market.
So if another system wants in there and can send some money to Avid, I'm sure Avid would be willing but it isn't like they have much in the way of finances to pay for development for every random immersive format.
