Default Won't Initialise Hardware in PT11 - PT10 fine!

So this is a weird one that instinctively I'm blaming on Avid. I have both 11.1.2 installed and 10.3.8. Both run fine on my old mBox 2 and Asio4All but my new focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP is not talking to Pro Tools 11. It was working at some point for sure but for the last few days whenever I get as far as hitting play in a project, PT11 will freeze for a second, and then say it could not initialise the saffire.

The saffire works fine in all other Daws including PT10 and Windows too.

Using Windows 8.1x64.

Please help, so frustrating!

I thought that both those interfaces have valid drivers for 11. First thing I would try is dumping ASIO4ALL(which I consider to be the "last ditch" effort).

Ok. So I found a workaround, though not exactly a fix if this gives any more info. If I do the hold N trick on start up, Generic ASIO is selected and I can switch to Saffire. It then seems to work fine but if I restart PT11 without holding N, it won't initialise... Odd.
