MIDI Channel Record Enable / No Recording

Hi there,


I put MIDI Channels into ProTools for my MIDI connection inbetween:
External Sequencer > MIDI Hub > External Synthesizer/Sampler


Yet I have to keep it record enabled to have MIDI go through the chain. When I record Audio it also records the MIDI.


Is there a way to set this up, so that it doesn't record the MIDI files?

I'm confused here. So you don't want it to record? Then don't put the track into record? Maybe if you describe exactly what the end goal is, someone will have a good solution(I'm sure mine isn't that)

The problem is that the MIDI notes are not going through the MIDI interface when the MIDI channels are not record enabled.


I would love to not have the MIDI notes recorded.

Is there a selection in the “Default Thru Instrument” setting that solves this problem for you? Look on the MIDI tab of the preferences for this setting.
