Default Getting MIDI patch files working

Can someone help me get midi patch files working on PT6.4 LE. Loaded the midnam file, set up the JV2080 as a midi device (or tried to) under midi studio setup, but when I try and change the patch name and select the JV2080 midnam file nothing happens.

Are there some special tricks here?

Thanks, Ian

Oh, and BTW, the JV2080 has its midi-in port connected to the midi-out port 1 on a Midisport 4x4 (which is working perfectly for a BCF2000) and the midi-out port connected to midi-in port 1 on the same 4x4.

Is anyone else going through this problem? I've set up my JV-2080 in Audio-Midi setup, but every time I try to select it under the "Change patch" option I get the error message: "ProTools could not find the appropriate patch names in the currently selected patch name document because either manufacturer/model information or instrument mode do not match".

Should I be able to set up the JV-2080 so that I can select it under the "output" for the midi track? Right now all I can see is the midi ports on the Midiman 4x4 midi hub, and the I suggest select the right port - output 1 - I don't see a way to set up the JV2080 so that I can select it from the output section.

Help - this is all looking very cryptic!

OK, wait a minute... twisted and convoluted workings have finally sorted this problem out. Digi's manuals need a serious upgrade in this area....

cheers - Ian
