Default Issue: Can't save to do to (false) illegal characters

I'm having an issue with Pro Tools 12.5, where I cannot save because Pro Tools is claiming that I am using illegal characters. I have attached a screenshot where you can see I have not used any illegal characters. I am on my Mac OSX version 10.10.5 (no hard drive) and have been for almost two years since I updated to PT 12. This issue does not occur every time, but is consistent enough for it to be a serious problem.

It doesn't say the file name has an illegal character, it says the PATH has an illegal file name. Does any folder - or anything in the PATH - have an illegal character?

That filename can also be a headache. OSX could be seeing it as a file extension with the period as part of the name.

n.nn type file names shouldn't be a problem - every session I've saved for probably the last 15 years has a "n.nn" version number on the end of it.

What the Weed says is what you should be looking at; something funny *somewhere* in the file path. If not that, then probably some kind of drive or volume database issue.

Maybe even something in the drive name? That's part of the path.
