Ditching my amp for 11R?
I guess there are a lot of longtime players here that have owned a lot of great amp's through the years. I myself, beacuse of practical reasons, needs to get a unit that can replace the need of a miced amp going straight into my daw. Do you feel that record/play with the 11R are a good "compromise" or is it as good as with amp's you used/use to record?
My style is sort of srv/hendrix/lukather. Not so much high gain type of playing.

Re: Ditching my amp for 11R?
Pre 11R = hated recording
Post 11R = love recording It is just too easy and I do not feel I compromised anything. The reamping features allows you to dial in your tone again and again until you are satisfied and the models are excellent. Micing an amp just seemed to be filled with problems. Bad tubes, bad Mic, bad cables, interference, room acoustics, etc. With a good power source the 11R is like its own little jam room. I sold a couple of Mesa's and Marshall after purchasing the 11R. |

Re: Ditching my amp for 11R?
This was the answer I hoped for. The ability to reamp is a strong reason as well. In my case it means I can record 24/7 if I want.
Does it work with other software than PT? Thank's for sharing!

Re: Ditching my amp for 11R?
Yes it does. I use 11R with Logic 9.
You can also re-amp in other daw's. I use mine mostly for recording. ( and playing on low volume.) I must say that I like my tubeamps better than 11R (or even the almighty Axe2). But the 11R (and the axe2 again) sounds very impressive. And in a recording it can sounds like a nice, recorded, tube amp. Now if avid would moddel a Trainwreck Express! And the second (EF86) channel of the DC30. |

Re: Ditching my amp for 11R?
I actually bought my first tube amp AFTER I got my 11R, only because i never knew what it was like to play with such epic tone, i had to have it in a form where i could just crank it through a 4x12.
I absolutly love my 11R though, i mean, how can you beat using a little scroll wheel to change between some of the most world renown guitar amps? Do what Benoni told me to do around a year ago, and just buy it. You will NOT regret it Nick

Re: Ditching my amp for 11R?
As far as I'm concerned the only problem with the 11R is not a problem created by the 11R. You need a decent pair of speakers to get the best sounds. My Beheringer Truth monitor speakers are just crap, but I also played through some Adam 7X speakers and my oh my... I fell in love with my 11R all over again.
Still not sure how I'm going to use it live. A powered monitor speaker sounds nice and so does a dedicated power amp :) |

Re: Ditching my amp for 11R?
sold my amp and never looked back. The 11R makes recording so much easier and sounds better then the tones I was able to dial in on a Mesa.

Re: Ditching my amp for 11R?
Can you clearify this?
I have the Truths and my only complaint would be that the "live amp in room" feel isn't quite there. I also have PA speakers with 15's that I use at low volumes to get the feel in a small room for practicing. But I wish I could get 95% of my live sound to be the same as I get from the Truths. |

11R + QSC K10 = no more amp GAS.
