Looping in PT - jumping to end of loop
Hi -
Can anyone tell me how to jump around in the timeline while creating a loop without losing my selection? I'm making some long loops and want to make sure they're looping smoothly i.e I need to hear the transition from the end to the beginning before committing to the edit. Cheers ... |

Re: Looping in PT - jumping to end of loop
Select your looping track(s) then cmd+D (Mac) to duplicate. This will duplicate all tracks at the end point of the selection. Put your cursor near the end of your selection to hear the loop end/start point. Then if it sounds ok just undo the duplication. If it doesn't sound right undo the duplicate then make adjustments and duplicate again until the transition is smooth.
I make a lot of ambient, non musical loops for games and have used the above method regularly. Plus used the duplicate if I have to fade the loop point then bounce a segment of the two pieces. |
