Pro Tools 11 crashes on Save

yeah that sucks.
If I play a [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] load of notes on the keyboard it will shut up.

Give that a try..... a tad quicker than reactivating but just as irritating

Doesn't work and only makes it worse. Deactivate/reactivate (not bypass/unbypass) works every time.

I'm on Pro Tools 12.1 HD (tried with only stock plugins) and have a same problem since upgraded from 10HD.
Crash happens while editing, or zooming in, then saving, or when auto save kicks in.

It's, as you all know it, extremely annoying to go 3 steps ahead-one back every time it crashes and we are supposed to work fast...

Tried all kind of troubleshooting, nothing really helped.
Crashing tends to disappear for a while when preferences are erased then repaired permission and restarted, but it builds up over time to like, crashes every 10-15 mins. Otherwise, when it works it is snappy and works well but this is frustrating to say the least. With tons of work ahead don't know what to do really.

What did Avid Support say or do for you when you contacted them?

I moved back to PT10HD and print some effects to audio tracks to free up the processing so I can continue mixing. Haven't talked to Avid Support yet as I expect them to troubleshoot this in a standard way, check your system setup, delete prefs, etc. All of it I already tried by default as a long time pro tools user. The thing is, I don't have this problem with PT 10 HD on Mavericks. If this isn't resolved in some reasonable time then it might be my setup. Old drivers or something. (M-Audio FW series hardware isn't supported on Mavericks) So I will then have to make some hardware changes before calling avid support.

Quick update:
I upgraded to version 12.4HD, problem still persisted so I contacted the support and got this answer which helped solving the problem. "delete your preferences: With Finder as the active application, hold the Option key and click on the Go menu at the top of the screen. Then, select Library. Go to the Preferences folder and delete the following items:
com.avid.ProTools.plist
ProTools folder within the Avid folder
then, empty your trash."

I think deleting this ProTools Folder from within Avid folder inside Preferences did the trick for me as I did all other steps many times previously without success. I didn't know that this folder existed prior to this. Hope it can help others.
