Licensing, Activation, Etc...

Hello,

I have never dealt with Pro Tools, Avid or anything mix-related. So I have jumped right in to install a system. I've done well!

Now I have some confusions on registration/activation.
What needs to be, what doesn't, where does it show up? SHOULD it show up?

1. My matrix didn't have an activation card.
Should it?
Do I need to activate it?
Should it show up in the Avid Master account?

2. I have an HDX card from a previous computer that was using it where I am.
Do I need to activate this?
I don't see anything on the iLok or the Avid Manager.

3. Digilink....What about it? Do I need to activate something? Is there something to download to ensure the HDX card works with the MTRX? I don't know. I don't have a clue.

I apologize for my ignorance. I'm trying. It's a bit of a whirlwind for me.

1) You should have had a plastic activation card with the MTRX. When you register it into your my.avid.com account you will get a "Digilink I/O" license deposited into your ilok account (need to create an ilok account first and also get an ilok key) and access to the DADman software (then downloadable from my.avid.com.) The Digilink I/O license on your ilok lets you use the MTRX with HDX cards/HD software.

2) HDX cards have a registration but don't get you anything.

You also need a license for HD software which is a separate buy.
