There are a few bugs introduced after 2019.6 that are showstoppers for some people (automation move when moving a fade, midi event list thing being two off the top of my head). These have not been fixed.

However, in terms of stability 2020.9 seems to be working very well for people.

Basically you gotta decide between features and bugs. Pretty absurd situation considering it's been over a year but it is what it is. At least both options are stable.

And on a Mac you can have both PT versions installed at the same time. That's what I've got here. Sour point is Avid knows about these bugs and has repro'd them - but not fixed (and I doubt they ever will).

Ok, I was under the impression that you could not run 2020.9 under mojave
but i suppose that it's just not supported.
I'd like to upgrade my MacBook to the 16" but that cannot run on mojave.
as you say I have 2 versions of Protools on my drive but I guess for now
I won't get rid of 2019.6 but will upgrade to 2o2o.9.
thanks for all the help!

Yes, with renaming PT application.

HOWEVER, you need to know that different PT may have different plugin versions. PT will install core plugins on first launch, but it does not do so if the plugins are already there. So when you switch versions you should also empty your plugin folder.
