PT11 + Reason Rewire Constantly Overloads CPU??
Im currently trying to rewire Reason 7 into PT11 and can't even get a few seconds before i get a CPU overload (6101 error) Doesn't matter even if i have one track only in Reason. Buffer size is at its fullest and my Macbook Pro is definitely capable power wise (i7 2.6ghz 16gb ram). Back in the day I could rewire huge sessions into my old white macbook and have no problems at all.. Any idea whats going on?

Re: PT11 + Reason Rewire Constantly Overloads CPU??
i7 2.6ghz 16gb Mac Mini.
11.0.3 regular OS 10.9.2 RSN 7.0.1 002 interface (003 drivers) External Audio Drive (SSD) Boot Drive (SSD) 32, 128 & 1024 buffers working fine here. Did reason get setup in standalone?

Re: PT11 + Reason Rewire Constantly Overloads CPU??
I assume you mean "standalone" as in it didn't get rewired as a slave to pro tools? Both are running at 64 bit and reason is slaved

Re: PT11 + Reason Rewire Constantly Overloads CPU??
I recently encountered a problem with Reason 7 and PT11. Not quite the same as you describe - in my case, distorted playback from Reason - but perhaps related? I finally figured out that if the Buffer setting in Reason's prefs isn't the same as buffer setting in PT, then playback from Reason will be distorted. Obviously a bug.
Now when I instantiate Reason as plugin, after Reason boots up - before I hit play - I go into Reason prefs and set the buffer to match PT's. It may or may not be relevant to your issue... Good luck!

Re: PT11 + Reason Rewire Constantly Overloads CPU??
Any updates to this issue? Maybe its a different issue
I have PT 11 HD and running on a Mac Pro Westmere, 32 gigs of ram, all SS drives. Protools can run 64 buffer with tons of tracks and plugins fine. Very low CPU. When I create a simple 4 track no plug in project. CPU is super low. Load rewire to Abelton and the main cpu spikes to red a lot and cannot run buffers under 256. Seems like a rewire plug in issue or something. Needs to be fixed as it makes rewire useless. Going into 256 buffers I can already tell latency with Abelton and pro tools compare click track. I hope someone has a solution for his very soon! |
