Question Individual Channel Strip PI-Parameter

Hello Folks,
I can already feel that the answer will be no, but still I want to hope and ask:
Is it possible configure, which parameters of a plugin appear on the encoders of the channel strips? It would for example be nice, to configure a 3-Band Equalizer but hide the Q-Values and that way have a very basic equalizer on the 6 encoders of the first page of the Channel Strip.
Just because I dont like paging up and down all the time, neither transferring the EQs to the center section by selecting all the time, or open the plugin custom faders, when I just want to cut away some Frequencies of a few channel.
A workaround would be to have a plugin that offers exactly the wanted parameters, but I cant think of any!?
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks,
Gregor

Gregor -You need to check out plugin mapping -its well worth getting you head around -I think it is what you are looking for, fast to set up and changes the way you use the board.

Also the switches are cool

All the best

Bruno

This is perfect!! Thanks a lot for the help, I really haven't come across this feature yet.
The only thing I wonder about, is where the new individual PI-Map is stored, after I've created it. can I safe it as a preference with the Plug In, or do I have to redo the procedure whenever I want to use this PI-Map in a channel?
Thanks a lot, really, youve just made my life much easier!
All the best,
Gregor

...Just another thought about PI-maps:
When you put a channel strip plug in to your mixing channels, ICON automatically respects it as both Dynamic and EQ regardless of the PI category you have chosen it from. Thus, both Dyn and EQ LED will light up to show there are dynamic and equalizing components, good.
But still, pushing either the Dyn button or the EQ button on the Channels will access the same plugin and worse the same PI map. So if you have mapped the EQ components lets say to page 1 and 2 and the dynamic components to 3 and 4 of that PI map, you will - even by pressing the Dyn Button - end up on the EQ section, right?
This is certainly somewhat of a luxury problem, still it would be sweet to shape this up, wouldn't it?
I havent seen anybody writing about this elsewhere, so I put it in this thread!
How do you handle your channel strip PIs?
Best Regards,
Gregor

Gregor -You are right being able to assign the EQ parameters of a channel strip plug in to an EQ map and the dynamics parameters to a Dynamic map would be a good addition. Curently you can map to more than one page so it is possible to have a EQ map as page 1 and then Dynamics as page 2 -but not as elegant as your suggestion.

I would also like to see something like 'custom pots' so that in one layer you could have as an example -2 pot panner, HPF, LPF and 2 Aux sends.
Also it would be really cool to be able to have pots mapped across several plug ins parameters. -Allowing for a truly customizable work surface.

It will be interesting to see how Icon continues to develop for existing PT users now that Avid are also developing Eucon.

All the best

Bruno

Thats so true Bruno, I hadn't thought about it yet, but now that you say it, its desirable!
So until the next change I just either get used to paging up and down for Dyn and EQ or apply two channel strips, one for each right? Well like I said its definately more of a luxary problem, but just wanted to know how you guys do it with Channel Strip PI...
Best,
Gregor
