Default Digi 003 ( 18 inputs)

Good day everyone, reading the manual and it seems to me that if you go another 8 inputs ADAT, which would now be a total of 16 inputs where does the other 2 inputs come into play?, if I'm reading the manual right you either use ADAT or SPDIF.

8 adat optical
2 SPDIF Coax (not optical)

What is confusing you is that SPDIF has two formats (Coaxial and Optical), If you use the ADAT optical inputs for 8 channels, you can not use the same optical inputs for 2 channels of optical SPDIF input. There is a separate Coaxial input (stereo so it counts as two channels) for Coaxail SPDIF that you can still use.
