Problem with Beat Detective in Pro Tools 10 Native

Need help!! I edited some live drums in Beat Detective and conformed the groove to what works for my song... The drums are tighter but now they are no longer locked with the rest of the multitrack..(vocals, bass, keys, etc.) Did I do something wrong in my Beat Detective editing to cause the drums to be off now? I was under the impression that I could tighten the drums up with Beat Detective and things still be in sync. I think I may have gone wrong somewhere. Please send help.. Many thanks!!

Were all tracks recorded to a click? If so, does that correspond to your session tempo?

Also, if this originally was a live recording with multiple instruments recording at the same time, you could very well be "dragging" the drummer further away from the other musicians.

I am always scared to beat detect the whole kit.....

I'm a wuss and usually just elastic audio. The sections that seem to need attention....

Ok, are the rest of the tracks in line with the click?

Are you working with a static tempo map (conductor enabled)?

yes... the rest of the tracks are in line with the click...static tempo throughout the song, no tempo changes, but the conductor is highlighted in the transport.......

Didn't you edit the drums to the grid?

You don't give much info about what you've done.

began in Grid Mode with the drums all highlighted as a group and performed all beat detective edits on the group; ie, capture selection, detection-normal using enhanced resolution, analyze move sensitivity fader to detect all beats, clip separation, then separate, region conform, quantize value to 1/16 strength 85.....

It sounds ok to me, as far as the procedure goes.

The pitfall tends to be that the captured selection shown in BD doesn't match with what the performance was meant to be. Something like an early kick detected as, say, 22|4|000 instead of 23|1|000. I check that the triggers are correct before I separate.
