Default 5.1 EQ & Comp

Hi Guys,

Looking for 5.1 EQ and Compression recommendations. These would be work-horses mostly for stems and master bus.

I've been using multi-mono versions of Waves REQ6 and SSL Comp but using too many voices that way. Looking for something designed with 5.1 in mind.

So far I've been looking into DMG Audio Equilibrium and The Avid Pro Compressor.

Any suggestions?

I think your choices should be:

DMG Audio Equilibrium
Avid Pro Compressor
Avid Pro Limiter
Fab Filter Pro L Limiter

Those will all work extremely well for you.

I believe the FabFilter Pro L is stereo and multi mono only.

I love fabfilter… but I didn't think it did surround either… can anyone confirm or deny true surround (as opposed to multi-mono)

Thanks!

AFAIK the only 5.1 EQ is a part of the Avid Channel Strip.

There is no difference in voice usage between a multi-mono and a muti-channel plug-in
Or are saying that you need a AAX DSP plugs do to Waves only doing AAX Native?
