Default Longest file format

So I'm trying to figure out the LONGEST file format I can use to record non-stop.

I know that both AIFF and WAVE are about the same length... somewhere around 4 hours as I recall, but is SDII longer by any chance?

Thanks.

Dear Jeffrey,
no, the limit is the (4 gig) file limit in Pro Tools actually a file can only be 3.98 GB. This is for backward compatibility with older PT systems.
Time for this to go the way of the Dodo.

You're both right: it was previously 2GB (4 hours) but was upped to 4GB just recently.

Naturally the recording time is dependent on the Sample rate. You get 4 hrs at 48k and 2 @ 96k.
