This still has not been resolved. 2019.5 still makes editing unbearably stuttery when a high resolution display is connected.

Use the default resolution for the 5k screen and then show Info on the Pro Tools app. There you can find a low resolution mode. Tick that box and choose srgb as mentioned before and it Will give you a lot faster computer. And a bit uglier :)
