Default About mastering plugs

I've done some very impressing stuff (according to my own ears and my own music preferences) in my first MBox-project. Next session is mastering. And I need some good plug-ins for it. Price is not the issue, loan is on its way.

So, what to buy, and what plugins are easyest to use, I'm still just a beginner. I've heard that Waves Multimizer is a very good option, any suggestions?

And by the way, MBox is a VERY good !!!!!!!!!! I'm impressed

I'd definitely suggest Waves' plug-ins like the L3 Mulitimaximizer, LinEQ, LinCompressor, C4, L1, L2, RenComp, (some of the ones I use for mastering)

If money is not an issue, then send your "impressive" stuff out to a good mastering house and have another set of ears work their magic. That is what I would do. Always budget for a mastering house if possible.

Waves Diamond 5 though is pretty much standard for in the box plugs. Expensive, but worth every penny.

Good luck,

- Doc

Hey Fin..

Like Intel said..The waves package kicks ass.

Check out the tutorial from Har Bal. It will give you an idea on the process (using waves plugs etc.)

Some other plug-ins to consider would be McDsp Analog Channel , PSP Vintage Warmer , Izotope Ozone 3 and all of the Elemental Audio plug-ins. One plug-in might perform better than the other for a particular situation.

Just tested and these two and opted for the Vintage Warmer - cheaper too! BUT.....
