I don't care for USB drives but v3.0 stuff is here
I came across this today
http://usb.brando.com/usb-3-0_c061d015 1 fuzz math question: If 3.0 is ~5Gb/s but the PCIe 1x card is ~3Gb/s is there not ~2Gb/s missing?

Just because they say that it is 5Gb/s, that is just raw speed, not a real world number. Like USB 2.0. It said 480 Mb/s, but in reality reading is about 200 Mb/s. Also, most cards will use x4 or x8 electrical connections anyway.
