Default Mogami for recording or save money??

Hey guys just wondering if there is another brand of great mic cables I can buy on ebay and save some money. Mogami is very expensive and after buying my gear I dont have alot left. Would like to be able to save some money but not degrade my recordings. Thanks in advance

I love and depend on mogami for my multipair and canare for my mic and instrument cable. They sound consistent and are physically easy to work with and reject the nicely through noises runs. The individual numbers on the pairs is a huge convenance, better than a color sequence. I love the Quad canare for high RF environments.

Oh.... one last thought for long multichannel runs where all that copper is very expensive, check out dante and avb variations.

Don't know anything about their wire. I like using the gold neutrik connectors. The only cables I don't make are the bantam tt cables. Most others I prefer to make myself. They do have nice Amazon reviews. Buy a few and test them.

GLS, Seismic, and maybe even Gotham are identical. Their cables have a thick supple rubbery jacket with wire that has very thin strands that make for great flexibility but easy to fray. The shield is a simple stranded spiral with 80% coverage at best.

I can understand you looking to spend less than Mogami price, but the only real way you'll save money on quality cables is to roll them yourself.

Expect a decent quality 25' off-the-shelf XLR cable to be about $1.25/ft.

Crap made in China for one purpose; to be cheap My first option, buy bulk cable from Canare(or Mogami) and bulk Neutrik connectors and have a soldering party(its a skill every studio owner needs). Second option; buy a name brand(not a "house" brand) that carries a lifetime warranty. I USED to buy the Monster brand's lower-end cables for the warranty, but recently they changed it, so no more Monster for me(used to be you bring in a bad cable to any retailer and they would hand you a new replacement). Accusound and Klotz are 2 more high-quality brands(but can get pricey in a hurry)

Mogami in bulk all the time here, Neutrik Silent and Switchcraft plugs and I've never had a problem with cables anymore
