Audio Suite Pitch Shift

Hello Everyone!

Am i missing something or did avid take out the audio suite pitch shifter in pro tools 11?

All i have is TimeShift and Varifi

(Maybe Pitch Shift was dropped, because Time Shift can do the same.)

Pitch Shift is still missing , for me specially the aax dsp64 version is
important....

no word from avid till now if it comes or not...

its one of the bread+butter plugins and as dsp
version the onliest one with nearly no latency when recording
(at least as DSP TDM version).

i am still on PT10HD with HD Accell Hard because of this plugin
still missing in PT11 and HDX, makes no sense for me to upgrade.

Pity, they make us used to something then drop it with no explanation. The plugin has been one of THE things in Pro Tools for years! AVID wake up!

At least there is "Pitch II". Audio Suite and Insert.

- Does slightly different things and is more complicated (2 moves in the Classic pitchshifter did a simple 'faster & higher' job)
- sounds completly different (which matters a lot!)

Besides, the existing (from v7 or so?) Timeshift thingie is a lot worse than the abandoned pitchshifter. I tried it mamy times when the pitchshifter sounded not satistactionery but almost every time the pitchshifter was way better than timeshift...

I thought anybody from Avid would have explained the lack of the plugin but no. 2 months isn't enough? Swapping PT11 to PT10 every time I want to pitch shift & make faster a sound at a time is annoying... I'm really upset :-/

Pitch II is essentially the same as the old pitch shift AudioSuite plug. Different GUI threw me for a minute, then I saw the coarse and cents controls.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. Have you ever used both? I guess no because you don't see the obvious difference (I don't mean GUI!).

In the old plugin:
- moving the pitch slider to the left caused also the lenght to change like you raised speed on a turntable (I don't know how to say it simplier)
- if you wanted to have the length intact you had to tick on one small square

In the new plugin
- it is NOT possible



The effect I want to achieve is available only in the Time Shift plugin which I find a completly different tool.

Yes it is. The coarse and cents knobs act exactly the same as the sliders in the pitch shift. Try it.
