Default Leopard Specific Question (another one??)

Hello,

Sorry to add another to the list of Leopard questions. But I do feel it's relevant and I have done as much research as possible.

First thanks to David L and the Digi team for providing some info as to the release schedule. My question is, when the update arrives, will it be for 10.5.1 or 10.5.2?

I'm currently running 10.5.1/PT7.4. Everything works fine. Not great... but acceptable for being outside the digi-approved setup. Apparently the latest Apple security update (10.5.2 only) fixes a VPN issue I've been struggling with. I'd update to 10.5.2 even if it meant poorer PT performance in the short run. But I will not update if it means remaining outside the digi-approved set-up once Leopard support is available.

I don't want to screw myself but updating to 10.5.2 if it's only 10.5.1 that will be approved in a month or two.

Thanks for any input.

/drew

I don't have an answer but I admire the question. I'm in the same boat but I have one question... What's a VPN issue?

If I am not mistaken they (digi) had said in a previous post that it was working on 10.5.2.
I could not find it right away but if you do a search it might be one of the posts that were locked.
I think my memory serves me right on this case.
I hope this helps
Mike

yeah, I think it's safe to say 10.5.1 is probably a no-go, it'll be 10.5.2 or possibly (my guess) 10.5.3 as that'll probably be out before the Digi release is ready, and since Apple OS problems are at fault for the delay it might take a new version of the OS to get things running right anyway.

Thanks for the input!

I'm also leaning towards 10.5.2 but I think I'll wait a few days into the new week to see if Digi will respond. David L's communication seemed upfront and on the level. I understand Digi not wanting to make any promises as to a release date but why hold out on which leopard point release they're working on?

Paul, VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. I use to connect to work and home securely when I'm abroad. It is in no way related to ProTools except that Apples fix may place me out of compliance with Digi support.

Thanks again,

/drew
