Default PT 7.1 System Freeze after DAE Loaded

Everytime I try to run PT7.1 the load window stops at DAE Loaded with what looks like 5-6 bars to go and just hangs forever.......What is going on? Anyone? Can't run PT on my Windows machine at the moment....Any help?

hey man i'm having the same problem! I dont know whats going on. I tried installing 6.9, and thats doing the same thing. I have to re-install pro tools. But once its re installed, it will load fine for about 3 to 4 for times, then start that freezing stuff.

Well I was going to copy paste what I just posted for gwell1's original post... but you're running one hell of a beautiful system... so I really have no clue. Try posting in the PT TDM Systems section of the DUC, I'm sure someone there could help you out more... sowwy...

Try running Pro Tools under a different user account... What happens?

I had this problem and it was the driver for the firewire card that comes with Winxp SP2. I reverted to the driver from SP1 and the problem went away.

I am running it usb with the MBox 2. I tried the Asio driver in Sound Forge and it just freezes, so I am thinking it is the audio driver. Deleted and reloaded several times to no avail...

Had the same problem. Everything worked fine until I upgraded. I ended up changing what Firewire drive I load my 002 into and it fixed it. If you don't have a PT recommended firewire card, this will most likely solve your problem. One thing you can do in the meantime is turn on your 002 prior to turning on your computer. I did that for months and it worked fine, but if I turned the computer on first, then the 002...I got that hangup problem. Now that I'm in a different firewire port...I'm good to go regardless...
