No audio being recorded in PT

What's goin on people. Here's my problem. I have M-Powered PT with the Firewire 1814, an MPC and a Powerbook. When I try to record onto the computer no audio is being recorded into the computer. When I hit record it triggers the MPC to start playing and it the record on PT starts to work, just no sound is being recorded. At first I thought it might have something to do with my mixer because I had it setup from MPC-mixer-FW1814-Mac. When it didn't work then I tried MPC-FW1814-Mac and it still doesn't work. The only thing that I do see is the LED meter on PT jumping up and down when I hit record enable and instead of waves showing up on PT they are straight lines that appear. If anyone is familiar with this problem and has a solution please let me know, as I have been idle for about the past 2 weeks.
