Cannot change Default Output Bus

Since PT 2023.9 I can no longer change the default output bus, it always remains set to “Master”.

seems to be a problem that only I have ;-) ... or can someone please check if this also occurs on their system

What exactly are you trying to do exactly where in Pro Tools? What exactly are you seeing in what exact part of the UI that is behaving differently than expected?

What is the playback engine set to? What happens after you default all of input, output, and bus IO pages? Post screenshots of the playback engine, input, output, and bus pages to a file or photo sharing website and post the links here.

Sorry, I was not clear enough. In the I/O settings page there is the option to set the default output bus, so when creating a new track, the output will go to this very setting. The default setting is "Master", I want it to be a specific bus output. But trying to change it, this setting will always change back to "Master".

I will try what you suggest and report back with screenshots.

It always changes back to Master when? When you set the option in the pulldown? When you reopen the session? When you open another session? When you exit Pro Tools and start over?

Uh that will be interesting, lets see the screenshots. Try to capture what menu options you are seeing in that pulldown.

I'm currently traveling for a few days, I'll send the screenshots afterwards... but let me just say - thank you for your interest in this problem. It's a very annoying one, I recently exported a mix for a customer where one of the tracks wasn't routed to the Bounce bus and therefore couldn't be heard in the mix ;-)... that was because We ended up recording a quick track and I forgot to route the track to my recording bus, which normally happens automatically
