Default Cracks and Pops when changing session sample rate

Hi!, I usually work with 44.100 Hz - 16 Bit sessions. A couple of days ago I record in 44.100 Hz - 24 Bit, and here comes my trouble. When I´m working in 16 bit sessions and then open the 24 bit session, my M-audio Interface goes out of sync and there is a loud crackling and popping in every channel, the only way to solve this issue it´s to shut-down my system and open the 24 bit session from scratch.

Does anybody had this problem?, Any suggestion?, I´ve tried to update the interface driver but it´s up to date.

thanks!

You're not actually changing the sample rate (still 44.1), only the bit depth (16 to 24). This shouldn't be a problem. Is something changed that you're not seeing?

I see that you have an Behringer somewhere in your chain!Might be the problem!

I use two Profire 2626 and never had that problem, normally i change sessions from 88 to 44 and the only thing that happens is PT to crash , but i open again and all is Ok after ...

In every day use, I leave the Behringer connected but turned off and also disabled from the profire driver, I will try to disconnect it and try again,
