A little info please

I just got a new Accel card for my HD system and the guy threw in an ilok. It's the old green/blue one and on it it says HD pack 3 version 6.9. Now the guy didn't know the ilok ID I just wondered if any body knew what plugs should be on this and if they could have been transferred. I've tried to search on google but can't really find the answer just wondered if anyone here could help

Hi, if it has been registered to someone before, they will need to transfer the licenses to you, or give you the ilok user account id and password, so you can transfer them to you.

otherwise, its useless. You cant even access whats on it.

From looking on google the HD pack 3 version 6 came with the following plugs

Bruno/Reso
Focusrite d2
Focusrite d3
D-Fi
Line 6 Amp Farm
Maxim
TC|Works MASTER X
Wave Mechanics PitchDoctor
Reverb One

It also says on the same page that they were not transferable, might just have to install these plugs and see if they authorise

You might get lucky if the ilok was preauthorized and never synced to any ilok account. Log into yours and attach the ilok. If you get a message that the connected ilok is synced to another account you can't sync it to yours, but if it asks if you want to add it to your account then you're golden. Anyhow, if the licenses are on it you can still usen em no problem. But most likely it's just an empty ilok with a sticker.

Cool i didn't think of that. Also if it's an empty ilok its possible to sync it to your account isn't it?

im not sure, i bought a used ilok from ebay that came to me empty. I synced it to my account and now its registered to me with nothing on it. If i sold it, i would assume the next person could sync it to their account since its empty. if it came with licenses i couldnt use, i imagine i could sync it to my account which would erase it and make it empty, then i could use it. perhaps im wrong.

alot of people complain they bought licenses on an ilok and didnt get the transfer so they cant access the licenses. But i think they can sync it to thieir account which would just empty the ilok. They usually dont on the chance they can get the licenses.

If an ilok is synced to an account you just cannot acces it to delete the licenses and make it your own, it needs to be freed from the previous account in first place. If you connect a strangers ilok to computer it will tell you that the ilok is synced to another account and you need to remove it from the usb port to proceed. Only thing I'm not sure about is if an ilok will hold no licenses will it be removed from the account by default or not. I can actually try this later.

according to ilok, an empty ilok will sync to any account.


One with licenses will not.
