Default Waves Renaissance EQ or T- Racks

I prefer the sound of the Waves Renaissance EQ's to T Racks. Anyone disagree? Is there a way to utilize the T Racks EQ? Right now it's just taking up space.

Well, I can decide between T-Racks and waves Q10 and last one wins hands down. T-Racks in nice but Q10 is great in comparision.

Anything renaissance is great, the eq is way more tweakable than t-racks and I like they way it sounds a lot more.

i agree about the tweaking part and generally like everything that has waves logo. my point was that t-racks eq simulates tube and therefore "feels" (to me at least, i don't know about you..) a bit warmer. as a last plugin before L2 that may add a nice touch to your mix.

btw. i would take ren-eq before q10 any time. if i'm unable to get the sound i want with 6 tweaks, i will not get it right with 10. sometimes less is more.

I beg to differ, To me the T-racks sounds more musical. It warms up the sound as opposed to just adding frequencies. For some reason Q10 just doesn't make anything "sound" better. Sure it's tweekable, but if the eq sounds good to begin with then you don't need to tweek it as much. The Hi's sound great on the Q10 but I find the Low's muddy and untangeable, where as the T-Racks is tight and punchy on the Low's. More NEVE like and less like a Mackie (Q10).

That said, I don't think there is a day that goes by where I don't use the Q10 to open up the ceiling.

Just my 2 cents

Certainly, there is a way, it just depends on the signal that needs eq'ing, sometimes Waves will do, other times T-Racks will be more suited. Use your ears, it doesn't matter if 9 out 10 people prefer Waves, it doesn't make it a better eq, it's just different. It's a bit odd to be thinking your T-Racks eq is just 'taking up space' at this point, I think you need to experiment a little more and trust your ears.
